When workers at a shelter stumbled upon a gorgeous Husky named Nate roaming around like a stray, they were surprised. But it didn’t take long for them to realize that Nate was not your typical homeless dog. His eyes were hollow and haunted, hinting at a troubled past, and he was incredibly nervous and withdrawn. Allow me to introduce you to Nate – this is his tale.
After the employees checked Nate for a microchip, they finally understood why he was acting so strangely. It turned out that he had been registered as a laboratory animal and had been put through harsh testing procedures for many months.
The lab carelessly abandoned Nate on the streets due to his “psychologically disturbed” state, which made things even worse. Fortunately, the Beagle Freedom Project workers were contacted by the shelter and they had prior experience with animals that were previously subjected to animal testing. They collaborated and eventually found a foster mom who was willing to accept Nate despite his scars. The foster mom created a rigorous rehabilitation plan and worked with him for several months to help him overcome his trauma. In the end, Nate’s video shows him beaming with a big smile as he is finally prepared to go to his forever home.
Although he may appear to be an ordinary dog, his foster mother knows that he will always be a heroic warrior in her eyes. Countless animals are subjected to unbearable conditions each year in laboratories all over the world, all in the name of human progress. It is high time that we speak out against this inhumane treatment and advocate for the rights of these test subjects.
